Getting ready for my trip to Arequipa in Peru this coming week, I am joining forces with Photographers Without Borders to help HOOP Peru raise awareness by documenting their activities in the region. The photos on this post were made in the Shan Province, close to Inle Lake, they were taken the morning our group arrived to the region. The easiest way to get to Inle Lake is flying to the Heho airport, but from there you need to drive, we stopped along the way in very interesting places, I”ll share more in other posts, but the countryside was also a great sight.

There was plenty of activity in the villages and countryside throughout the route and we wanted to stop and see. As always the Burmese people was welcoming and we spent a few minutes photographing these farmers . They are harvesting glutinous rice, also called sticky rice, which is very popular in South East Asia. Observing them for some time was a quite an experience, and you quickly realize that this not easy work, they walk back and forth from the field carrying those big bundles and yet, they seems to be at ease.
