Highlights of Moscow

Returned from a week in Russia about 4 weeks ago, already processed a bunch of photos but didn't have time to post them until now.Russia was in my bucket list for a long time, so when Aeroflot started direct non-stop flights from Miami to Moscow last year I had the perfect excuse, they are now serving this route 3 times a week, you get there in about 12 hours. I was 8 days in Russia, 4 days in Moscow, 4 days in St. Petersburg, moved between cities using the fantastic Sapsan, the fast train takes you from Moscow to St. Petersburg in only 4 hours.I really loved both cities, I had a fantastic time there, can't say I liked more one or the other, they are simply two fantastic places worth to see and enjoy.Moscow is one of the biggest cities in the world, in fact the most populous city in Europe, and that's not the only big thing there, the city is expensive, but of course they have the bigest community of billionaires on earth living there. Moscow is also home to several World Heritage Sites, of course including the Kremlin and Red Square, I loved every minute of my stay, and let me warn you, I believe this is the longest post of my blog....When planning trips I always try to see when is the best time of the year to visit, not this time, Aeroflot was running a great promo and I jumped all over as soon as I saw it, after all late march is spring right? well, not that fast.... as I was landing realized that it was going to be cold, you wanna know how cold? well, see this...It was freaking cold!!!! that's not the spring I know... but fortunately it was not like that all the time and I had good days as well, allowing me to walk and visit the most iconic places, and photograph them, of course all covered in white snow and with sections of the Moskva River completely frozen.Because I had only 3 full days in Moscow I stayed most of the time around the city center and principal sights, walked around the Moskva River, the Red Square, and the Kremlin.         So far so good, now if you are into rich architectural details, domes, and cupolas you are up for a feast in Moscow.          And I leave you with two of my favorites photos, taken in the late afternoon overlooking the Moskva River with the Kremlin on the right and the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in the background. Hope you liked it, as always I appreciate your comments, for prints or licensing information just click the photos.More coming soon....
