A day in Brasov | Romania

Happy new year!!! just back from a road trip to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee, had a wonderful time there, and I’ll be posting photos soon, but before that, here is my last post from the trip to Romania back in October; you can see prior posts from that adventure here: Highlights from Bucharest; People in the Streets of Bucharest and the Palace of Parliament.

Brasov is nested in the central part of the country and surrounded by the Southern Carpathians, and it is part of the Transylvania region, my goal was not only to visit the city but also a couple of castles in the region, including the famous Dracula castle, however, we got lost on the way and we couldn’t make it to the castles…. maybe next time, better prepared and with more time as this was only a day trip. The region is only about 160 km north of Bucharest, but there is no easy road to get there, and it takes about 3 hours.

The city is very well preserved, and I loved the atmosphere; certainly, I’d like to go back and stay a couple of days. All these photographs are not taken in the best of the lights, on the contrary, I arrived at noon, but there is no much you can do when you travel with time constraints, so I needed to work around it.
