The Street Market in Yangon | Myanmar

In Yangon there are no chain stores, so where do locals turn for they daily needs? The street market…Yes, locals go shopping everyday and they go to the street market where they can find everything you can imagine. Dead or alive, from fresh produce to, rice, meats, spices and beyond. The market stretches for several blocks, and besides food you can also find textiles, hardware and tools, herbal medicines, tailors, and of course get a haircut.People stroll the streets shopping around and bargaining, there is a sense of chaotic order here, merchants take every inch of the road they can, spreading the goods over the street in sacks, bamboo baskets, or fabrics, some others use stalls or small storefronts. This was probably my favorite place to photograph in Yangon. I just wanted to immerse myself with the local activities and daily life, after all, that is all what traveling's about, getting to know different cultures and traditions. Some people asked me what cameras I brought for this tripod, well, used both the Nikon D4 and the Fuji X-E2, this one primarily with the kit 18-55 lens although I had some primes as well, but as stated before I think that moving forward I will just travel with the Fuji, I’ll probably get a second body, if you look at my first post for this trip, can you really see a quality difference from the different photos without looking the metadata?.As far as this post, all the photos from the street market were done with the Fuji and kit lens, I used to pixel peep, not anymore, now I just enjoy myself and photography, being there and try to capture the uniqueness of the place and people, the Fuji gives me all I need and liberty to travel light.
